It focuses on Sophie, a youngish girl living in a town called Market Chipping, it is a place where wizards are common and seven league boots are very useful if you know what you're doing (Sophie does indeed take a while to get used to them!) and where a particular wizard is notoriously dangerous and that all girls should stay far away from, a wizard who goes by lots of different names, but the one they know him as is Howl, the wizard who eats girls hearts.
Sophie Hatter works in the family hat shop, living an very boring life which hardly differs day to day, until the evil witch of the Waste casts a spell on her to make Sophie look like a seventy year old woman; Sophie seeks refuge in Howl's castle, working as his cleaning lady.
But all is not normal on Howl's moving castle, Howl leaves early most every day to pursue one or other of the lady's he fancies at the time and living in a moving castle has it's own problems, a big one is the fact that it is the messiest place Sophie has ever seen!
What I thought:
I read the book after watching the amazing anime film version (which you must see as it is amazingly amazing!) and I was amazed at how different it was from the film, they are both just extraordinary!
Howl is very vain in both versions, more so in the book I think and it is amazing how different the story's are! And it is also in a series! Book 2 is called Castle in the Air and Book 3 is House of Many ways, they all have Howl and Sophie in them, but the 2&3 they aren't just about them, the story goes on to others! And all are well worth reading!
How are your holidays going? What are you most excitable about for next year?
Keep reading and Writing!

And guess what? I've started a new story! It's about a fox and a teenager girl, their relationship; how they are friends! I love writing it!
